The Gorreana tea plantation was founded in 1883 and is now one of the largest of the few surviving plantations on the island. It covers 50 ha and produces around 30 tons of tea, or cha as it is known locally every year.  See the cha being grown, picked and processed, and don't forget to sample it yourself! The plantation is open Monday- Friday 8am-5pm. You may also want to visit another small estate nearby, the Cha Porto Formosa, open Monday- Saturday 10am- 6pm.
